James Lewis, Jr., D.M.D.
Although he was born and raised in Milledgeville, Georgia, Dr. James Lewis calls Thomasville his home after moving here to begin his career in dentistry in 1977. Doctor Lewis attended Georgia College for a degree in Chemistry before graduating from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 1976. He moved to Thomasville to open his practice in 1977, and has come to be known as the "Singing Dentist." He always has a song in his heart that's going to find its way out, even when he's doing dentistry! Dr. Lewis is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and the Southwest District Dental Association.
Dr. Lewis met his wife, Marianne, when she began working for him as his dental hygienist in 1977. Marianne is a native of Thomas County and earned her BS degree in Dental Hygiene from the Medical College of Georgia. Together, they have two grown children - Jamie and Jarrod, and five grandchildren - Wesleyan, Evie, Whitley, Addilynn and Caden. They enjoy spending time outdoors on their farm in Thomas County, or camping in a two person, A-frame pop-up camper they affectionately call their "Home on the Range." Dr. Lewis' hobbies are music and hunting. Marianne enjoys wood working, reading and writing devotionals for her blogsite SproutMinistries2015.com. They attend Heritage Church in Moultrie, Georgia, where he plays either bass or acoustic guitar for the Praise and Worship Team. Their walk with Christ is priority in their lives.
